It’s a new year! 2011 was pretty good, got a job and a new boyfriend. Now I’m ready to move onward and upward. I’m thinking of going back to school to change careers or at least get a better one. My job is fine, but I’m not very happy in the role I’m in, and feel that I might be in the wrong industry. I do love nonprofits, and doing good work, but I don’t feel very suited to admin type roles, and am currently looking into what else I could do to make a living.
Spent the Christmas holiday with my family in Georgia. It was nice to see everyone and we got along well. My brother got a laptop for my mom for Christmas, and I spent some time setting it up for her. We saw a movie and had Christmas dinner. A good visit. Then I went back to San Antonio, where I spent the next week. I saw some friends there, cooked for John, and just relaxed. The weather was unseasonably warm (isn’t it always), sunny, and completely unlike December. I barely needed a jacket most days, and if I still lived in England, I’d think it was shorts weather.
I’m back at work now with my new toys. I got a couple of cool tech toys such as the Roku, and also I bought myself a dutch oven. With that and the cast iron skillet I can cook just about anything! I’m looking forward to 2012, and hope to make it back to Europe for a visit sometime in the first part of the year. That is, if I remember to renew my damn passport.
